Maria Sharapova originally faced a two-year suspension for a “banned substance violation,” but her suspension has just been shortened following an appeal. Sharapova is now eligible to return to the game on April 15, 2017. In response to the court’s decision, Sharapova wrote, “I’ve gone from one of the toughest days of my career last March when I learned about my suspension to now, one of my happiest days, as I found out I can return to tennis in April.”
